Sendroid Push Notifications

Saturday 04th of August 2012 / androidforums.com
First I guess I should say that I'm using a Galaxy S3 from T-Mobile.I'm loving the phone, overall it works wonderfully but I've been getting these annoying push notifications with red, sometimes yellow stars next to them, and they say things like "Summer Jobs Available! $15 An hour!" and "Your Phone May Have Virus!" (In poor English) so I definitely think I've got some spam on my hands. How did I get this on my phone and how can I get rid of it? I also get new windows opening up randomly in my browser that direct to "Stimulus Jobs.Net" and I don't how to stop those either, it seems each new page I open in the browser brings along with it one of those pop up pages.I'm back to smartphone world since a long time away and some major OS improvements so I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing. Any help would be great, excuse my ignorance. Thanks

need help!

Thursday 07th of November 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, and just recently it's been playing up a lot. I get constant pop ups saying "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped" it freezes my phone for minutes at a time, I can't click on things as it constantly pops up. I tried to open my Google Play Store but it won't open, every time I click it, it opens and shuts itself down immediately. I was wondering if you could maybe help as I might need to upgrade my phone or reset it incase I have a Virus or something. It started about a month ago when I downloaded BBM for Android. Thank you

Annoying downloads after AT&T update

Friday 06th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi guysYesterday I downloaded a sizeable software update for my Galaxy S3 from AT&T (I suspect to 4.3 but can`t be 100% sure). After the update all I seem to get is a batch of phantom downloads every ten or so minutes and they are always named the same. I clear them away and sure enough they come back shortly afterwards. See the pictures below.I installed and ran AVG anti-virus but it found nothing. Any thoughts, helps or ideas gratefully appreciated.

Verizon Galaxy S3 - Unable To Delete ANY Files

Sunday 29th of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have an uprooted Verizon SGIII SCH-I535. I also have a 16 GIG removable card for storage. I have tried to delete files from both the phone card and the removable storage location without any luck. The files I am trying to delete are videos,. documents, music and misc. downloaded files. I have tried the file manager that is installed originally, Andro Zip and another file manager all without any luck. I get any error message that tells me can't delete due to system restrictions. I can't copy or cut and paste files either. I can delete pictures using the Gallery. I am running AVG anti-virus. As far as I know I haven't set any restrictions anywhere to prevent deletion. If I remove the external 16 gig card and mount it in my Android tablet I can delete files but since space is starting to run short on the phone I would really like to free some up. Thanks! Dan

How does this scam work?

Friday 21st of February 2014 / androidforums.com
For the second time in just a few days, I have had this annoying message appear on the screen of my Samsung Galaxy S3... You have (13) virus...or some such. Yes, I know it's a scam. The thing that always gets me about these scammers is how they can be technically quite clever and yet so totally inept when it comes to spelling and grammar. The message was so badly written I never once considered it could be anything other than a scam. My question is, technically, how are they able to get this trap message to appear on my screen in the first place? The message appears, unprompted and uninvited. It doesn't seem to follow any particular action on my part. How do they do that? Have I got something running on my phone that allows them in? Is there anything I can do to block this, and similar, messages from appearing on my screen? Kind regardsKeith

Galaxy S3 Glitching & Going Into Dock and Hands-Free Mode

Wednesday 23rd of July 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
My Galaxy S3 keeps acting really strange. The screen will turn on at random times and the battery will show it's being charged when there is no cable in the phone. The phone will also go into either docking or hands-free mode at random times, and nothing I do can get it out of these modes. Sometimes the screen will turn on and enable the double-click listening feature. The screen will also turn on at random times and the screen saver will activate , followed by those "puddles" of waves that happen when you swipe your screen saver. Anyone have experience with this? Is this some kind of virus or something?
