Google Voice now supports Honeycomb tablets

Saturday 03rd of September 2011 / androinica.com
Google Voice has been updated several times this year, each one more disappointing than the last for the people who have been waiting for the ability to use it on their Honeycomb devices. Google has finally made Voice compatible with Honeycomb tablets, so no need to obsessively check changelogs every time you check the Android Market. That’s what I was doing earlier this morning as I went to update several apps and noticed “Added tablet support” among the changes of the Voice app. Naturally, I ran for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to give things a go and was pleased with the results. Messages are stretched across the screen, which allows reading practically the entire text without having to open it. The top bar has links to Compose, Refresh, Search, and browse Labels. The app functions otherwise as expected. Users can send and receive SMS messages through their Voice account as long as they have a Wi-Fi connection. They can also monitor their calling credit balance and change their notification settings. There’s also a 3×3 widget for the Inbox; and because it

Galaxy Nexux 7 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0?

Monday 16th of July 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi, I have 2 days left on my return period at Best Buy for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0 and although I really like my tablet, should I return it and buy the Google Nexus 7 10 inch? I want to hear from you and what you think. Keep it? Refund? Go for Jelly Bean? Wait another 6 months until Christmas and buy the Microsoft Surface?I'm an early adopter by buying the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0, and I'm not experiencing buyer's remorse because it performs as intended for my school and work plans. I tried the Acer Transformer tablet and it was not as good.I downloaded a few Android apps so I'm reading my text files and acrobat pdf files perfectly - and with 9 to 10 hours of battery time. Pretty good.I just won't know if the Microsoft Surface will have 25 hours of battery time and a keyboard included, etc...My reasons for keeping the Samsung so far...1. No Google spying. The Nexus 7 wants location tracking, web history, search behavior, etc., as a tradeoff for it's use.2. MicroSD slot. The Nexus doesn't have it.3. Standby mode. The Acer doesn't have it.My feeling is that as long as I can get 4

Text too small

Sunday 07th of April 2013 / androidforums.com
I have just purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (Wi-Fi) and previously owned the Samsung Galaxy Tab SCH-I800 (Verizon) which would only update to Firmware Version 2.3.5What I have noticed is that on the Tab 2, the homepage will position 6 shortcut icons across the tablet where the old Tablet will only position 5. No problem there but when I go to browse websites and go to Facebook, the text is so much smaller than on the old tablet. I've gone to 'display' and 'text size' on the tab 2 and changed the text size to 'huge' but it doesn't really seem to make too much difference. Is there any other setting that I could be missing. I love the text size on the old tablet compared to the Tab 2....I certainly didn't need to have the text any smaller than it was!!!I'd appreciate any help that you can offer. Thanks so much!!

app on store demo not on tablet, can't find to buy

Saturday 28th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
Just bought a new Samsung galaxy tab 3. The demo @ Costco had a note app, thought it was call 'S Notes' but unable to find the right/same one. It had paper opt like yellow legal, white lined, grid paper and different writing types like pencil, pen, and marker. The biggest and most important part to me was that it turned hand writing into text and wasn't just a postit sized. I want to use it for creative writing and transfer to pc(word). I'm not sure it the demo could do the last part with the pc but if you know of one that can that would be ideal. Thanks.
