Samsung Galaxy Proclaim IMEI Number on Straight Talk

Tuesday 11th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
I've read that IMEI numbers should be 15 or 17 digits long. The Samsung Galaxy Proclaim I have is a Straight Talk phone and the IMEI number is 18 digits long. I know it uses the Verizon/CDMA network. Can anyone tell me why that is? Also, is there a way to get a 15 or 17 digit IMEI from the Straight Talk IMEI?

Is it possible to get a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 to work on Straight Talk?

Monday 05th of August 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi there! First off, I'm new to these forms and still quite new to Android seeing as how I got my first Android smartphone at the end of June. So, I don't get a lot of the technical jargon, but as a nineteen year old I like to think I'm a young dog who can learn these new tricks. Poor attempts at humour aside, I have service with Straight Talk [the unlimited $45 card stuff with a Huawei Ascend Plus H881c] and I want to stay with them. However, I want a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I have a friend who is willing to sell me theirs. It is a Sprint Galaxy S4 and I am wondering if it's possible to get it to work with Straight Talk? If so, could anyone help me on how - with it being easy and not to expensive for whatever you gotta do it make it work [if you have to buy like a sim card, that SMS/MMS will work, or whatever else], or if it's difficult and expensive.I appreciate any help I can get!

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hands-on

Wednesday 04th of September 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
The latest iteration of Samsung’s Note handset features new S Pen apps and a unique new back coverWhen the Samsung Galaxy Note first emerged a couple of years ago, few suspected it would go on to become a cornerstone of Samsung’s Android device lineup. Yet here we are in 2013 witnessing the launch of the Galaxy Note 3, the third iteration of a highly successful device family. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 formula is a familiar one — combine a big screen with stylus input, a powerful CPU and a ton of software features. On the hardware side, the Note 3 is more or less the same size and shape as its predecessor, although it’s sporting a larger screen (5.7 inches), a larger battery (3200mAh) and a lighter weight. It’s entirely more squared-off than many recent Samsung devices, indicating a departure from the nature-inspired design language of old. If anything, the new Note resembles an old-style paper notepad — that’s mostly due to its bold new back cover design. In a somewhat skeuomorphic turn, the plastic back has a faux leather effect to it, comple

Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear hitting all four major US carriers

Wednesday 04th of September 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Specific pricing, colors and availability still under wrapsJust in case you missed it in the flurry of Samsung and Sony news today, all four major US carriers have announced officially that they will be carrying Samsung's latest phone and wearable device. Unfortunately right at the moment none of the carriers are willing to reveal specific dates or pricing information, but information provided in Samsung's announcement of the device indicate that it is slated to start hitting carriers from September 25th.The most interesting part about this announcement is that each carrier is indicating that it will carry not only the Galaxy Note 3 but also the Galaxy Gear, indicating that the Gear will make its way to carriers as more of a regular accessory.T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint are all offering some sort of pre-registration page for the most eager potential customers among us, but you can bet we'll be letting you know more information about pricing and availability as it comes.VerizonT-MobileAT&TSprintMore:Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hands-on |Hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Ge

Video: Galaxy Note 3 versus Galaxy Note 2

Saturday 07th of September 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 the talk of IFA2013, but how does it measure up to its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 2? We've taken to the IFA 2013 show floor to compare the new and old Note, and you'll find a full hardware rundown in the video above. From the front, the Galaxy Note series hasn't changed a whole lot. We're still dealing with an exceptionally large smartphone, though it's clear to see there's more screen to go around on the Note 3, made possible by its smaller bezels. The new Note is also a little more squared-off than its predecessor, likely part of the push to make it resemble a real paper notebook. Nowhere else is that more obvious than on the phone's back panel, which now sports a faux-leather effect, complete with stitching. And then there are the obvious spec improvements— Snapdragon 800 compared to the year-old Exynos 4 Quad, 3GB up from 2GB and 1080p from 720. Hit the video above for the full lowdown. And check out our Galaxy Note 3 hands-on feature for more on Samsung's latest handset.

Galaxy note 3 rom on note 2?

Wednesday 18th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi everyone,I've had a few androids and iphones but I've never jailbroken or done custom ROMS on an android device before. When the galaxy note 3 gets released will there be people who are able to get the Note 3 custom Rom for Note 2 users so we can use the new features that the note 3 has? I like the new airview menu and options it provides. I would assume this would be possible unless anyone knows of any special hardware requirements the note 3 has that would limit the ability of the Note 2 to do this. Thanks for the replies!

Galaxy Note 3: Run on Straight Talk

Saturday 09th of November 2013 / androidforums.com
Trying to determine, once and for all, if I purchase a Galaxy Note 3 (CDMA) and manage to get it unlocked, is there some way I will be able to get it to run on Straight Talk? Love the idea of having that phablet (looove that "real estate"!) but can't figure out how to avoid a $150/month bill. Ain't gonna happen. Thanks, anyone!Tom

Android 4.4 Builds For AT&T's Galaxy S4 And Galaxy Note 3 Leaked On XDA Developers

Monday 27th of January 2014 / feedproxy.google.com
Samsung has been gradually rolling out the KitKat software update for international models of the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 over the last couple of weeks. But surprisingly, it looks like at least one American carrier is eager to get Android 4.4 on the latest Samsung flagships as well. Noted XDA Developers forum member Designgears has posted official leaked builds of KitKat for AT&T's variants of the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 - you can download and flash them right now. These KitKat builds probably aren't the final versions that will eventually be sent out as an over-the-air update. The S4 build in particular (I337UCUFMLD) has a reboot issue when using video codecs. But those who don't mind taking a few risks (including flashing a new bootloader and losing any root privileges they might have) can load up the ZIP files and flash them via Samsung's Odin desktop tool. Designgears takes care to note that if you're unfamiliar with that sort of thing, it's best to wait for the official release. Apps and related data will probably be wiped out. Both the AT&T Galaxy S4 build and
