Android 4.0.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus rolling out again

Thursday 12th of January 2012 / androidcentral.com
Mmmm. Can you taste that (almost) fresh new version of Ice Cream Sandwich? It appears as though Android 4.0.2 is rolling out to the GSM versions of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus again via an OTA update, so if you were one of the unlucky ones who have yet to receive it now may be your time. Weighing in at only 8.8MB it is pretty obvious that this is just a few bug fixes, but hey who doesn't enjoy a nice update for their device. If you haven't been notified of the update be sure to head into your settings and check manually for the update. Be sure to hop in the forums and let us know how it works out for you, and what you changes you notice.A big thanks from Phil goes out to Seth Weintraub!

Download: Official Android 4.1 leaks for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Note 10.1

Saturday 08th of September 2012 / androidheadlines.com
If you have been rocking that shiny new Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 or Galaxy Note 10.1, you are still stuck on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. That is, if you haven’t gone the hacking route and flashed a custom ROM yet. Sometimes that is simply not the best option for many users, though, and flashing an official build may be more comforting. The guys at SamMobile have managed to get a hold of some leaked official builds for both tablets, and they are ready for your downloading and flashing pleasure. Remember these are not final versions of the update, so they will likely come with a few bugs. But of course, it can’t be fun without a little risk. Just remember that …Continue Reading HereDownload: Official Android 4.1 leaks for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Note 10.1edgar cervantes – phandroid.com

Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition breaks SD card writing, but there is a workaround

Saturday 10th of August 2013 / feedproxy.google.com
Sometimes the little things can cause a big headacheThe Android 4.3 update for your shiny new Galaxy S4 Google Play edition phone has a minor issue that is frustrating more than a few users. Most apps can no longer write anything to the SD card, and insteadjust give you an error when you try doing it.It's one of those little things that can cause a lot of headache. The technical reasons are a group ID issue, and applications aren't given permission to access the external storage for writing because they aren't in the right group. It's a Unix thing, and if you don't understand it all you're not alone— just know that it's an easy fix in a number of different ways, and hopefully it gets fixed soon. If you do understand, we'll cover it a little more later in this post. While we're waiting for a permanent fix, the good news is that you can copy files to the external SD card by hand, as long as you use ES File Explorer to do so. Either through magic, or crafty developing, ES File Explorer is a member of the correct group to both read and write to t

[LEAKED] Kit Kat 4.4.2 For The Samsung Galaxy S4!

Monday 13th of January 2014 / droidforums.net
Samsung Galaxy S4 users will be happy to learn that Samsung is currently working Kit Kat 4.4.2 for the Galaxy S4! Although Kit Kat has been out since last year it is nice to see that the Samsung continues to focus on updating the S4 even with the S5 release imminent. SamMobile has done some dirty work on our behalf and has obtained a fresh copy of a KitKat 4.4.2 Test Firmware "build I9505XXUFNA1" for the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505). According to SamMobile Kit Kat should be releasing for the S4 in February or March. This test build is already pretty stable with only a few noticeable bugs. An instantly noticeable change in the touchwiz UI is the swap from the Gingerbread green status bar to an all new White Kit Kat status bar. SamMobile says that the test build gives the S4 a slight performance bump which is apparent in benchmark tests. Other changes include an updated and improved keyboard and a camera button from the lockscreen. This is for the international European variant of the Galaxy S4. If you do decide to flash this leaked build be sure that you have the correct varian
