Nexus 4 Help - Data Services Not Working (Straight Talk - AT&T)

Friday 14th of December 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
People of Android Central I need your help - My nexus 4 data services are not currently working. I was having issues with data services for the past few days so I did a full reset to factory spec and re-programmed my APN. I followed the directions exact to straight talk's specifications and now I can't send or receive any data. I can send and receive calls and texts. I have included a few screenshots of my settings below. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone see or know something that is wrong with my settings? I would really appreciate some help! thanks guys!

NO DATA with Straight Talk AT&T SIM

Thursday 27th of December 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
My very cool wife bought me a Nexus 4 for Christmas, and an AT&T Micro-SIM to go with it. I loaded up a $45 plan and got everything ready to go. It took about 18 hours (just let me go, Virgin Mobile!) for the phone number to port over, but finally I was able to make calls. But no data ever showed up. I tried tweaking the APN settings to everything I could find on the internet. I tried to call Straight Talk, but after being on hold for an hour with no response, I hung up. I have submitted a ticket through their FB page, but the response (after several hours) didn't encourage me - it left me wondering if they could actually read what I wrote. So is there any hope for me, or do I need a new SIM? I can send and receive texts, but I get no data. If I use the wap.cingular APN I get a very slow and broken (basically unusable) data connection, but with att.mvno I get nothing. Removing proxies and ports does nothing either. I know people around me are using AT&T Straight Talk data, so I know I'm not in a no-service area, and it doesn't work at home or at work. My data is enabled, I

Is anyone else having problems with S7-104 reading AT&T sim?

Saturday 19th of March 2011 / androidtablets.net
Mine will read tmobile sim and connect to 2G was working great w/AT&T data plan on 3G then the data just quit working. Spoke w/ ATT and ended up stopping at a company store and getting new sim card. Still can not get data. Turn device off and on, and 50% of the restarts it shows no service at all but still says at network. Other times I show 3-4 bars and when I check status sometimes it will read hspa other time it says unknown. This is the 2nd S7 i have had this happen with. Am I lucky an getting lemons or are other people experiancing this problem, if so how dd you fix it?Sent from my sdk using Android Tablet Forum App

I need help with a Google Nexus 4 on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim card

Saturday 29th of June 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I had Virgin Mobile locked in at $25/month and after moving recently the service wasn't very good in my house. I decided to switch providers and my phone was getting old anyway, so I made the switch to straight talk with an AT&T sim card from ebay for $50. I'm avoiding t-mobile for the same reason - it won't have very good service in this area. I used the APN settings listed on straight talk's website, and the data works, and I can send picture messages, but can't receive them. It's an annoying issue that I can't find a solution for. I've tried a few different APN settings, but none have worked and just stop all data function completely. I've tried talking to straight talk customer service, but it was a complete waste of time. Their solution is basically reset the phone and try the same thing over and over. I hung up after an hour today. My parents actually have galaxy S2s on straight talk with AT&T sims, and I tried copying their APN settings and it still didn't work. Help? Possible solutions:1. Correct APN settings or some other setting that quickly fixes the issue2. Switch

Has anybody tried putting a Tmobile or AT&T sim into their Verizon Note 3?

Thursday 10th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Just curious. I know that the Verizon Note 2 shipped factory sim unlocked. I was wondering if it is the same for the Note 3? Sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II via Tapatalk 4

improving Straight Talk (AT&T) coverage at home and work with microcell?

Sunday 01st of December 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I am using a Straight Talk (AT&T) sim with my Nexus 4. In my home, there are places where I get some sketchy cell service causing phone calls to go in and out. At work, some areas are in old brick buildings with no coverage at all. I'm wondering if an AT&T microcell is the way to go. Theoretically, I am thinking that improving AT&T coverage would give me better Straight Talk coverage as well. Without a microcell to try out on my own, I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this out and confirm it does (or does not) work. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.
