Boost Mobile Rep answer to wifi

Sunday 04th of December 2011 / androidforums.com
I just purchased a ZTE Warp from boost mobile. I am having an issue where I can connect to my wifi at home (no cell service at my home) but it will not allow my to use my web browser or anything though wifi for that matter. It gives me a server error.I spoke with a rep form boost (which was like having my teeth pulled). He informed me that I cannot use the wifi function of the phone unless I have actual cell phone service at the wifi location. Does anyone know if this is true? It doesn't make any sense to me to have wifi capabilities if you need to have cell service. Why would you need wifi if you have cell service? If this is true, is there a way around this? If it's not true, can anyone help me with my problem?

Someone please help!

Saturday 03rd of August 2013 / androidforums.com
I have the ZTE Warp Sequent. I am completely frustrated with this device. I am from the states, visiting Indonesia, and the only way I can connect back home instantly, is by texting on my phone through apps. Obviously, the only way I can do this is through wifi. The hotel offers WiFi and I have been connected to it for DAYS now, using the apps and everything. Now, my phone just decided that it will not connect. I go to the wifi settings and I go to the specified wifi, and it gets all the way to where it says connected. Now, the wifi symbol shows up on the screen, and after about 30 seconds to a minute, the symbol disappears, and when I go back to the settings, the wifi says it has been disabled. I don't even know how this happens. I have tried soft resetting AND hard resetting my phone, but neither of those worked. I know the internet connection works because I am using it on my laptop. Please, someone tell me what to do. I'm about to pull my hair out and throw this thing so far into the mountains of Indonesia.

ZTE V970 won't surf when wifi is disabled

Saturday 26th of October 2013 / androidforums.com
Hi there,I got a ZTE v970 about a week ago. Android version 4.1.2 MIUI version 3.2.22My phone will not connect to data. I have no problem connecting it to wifi. When I turn wifi off, it won't connect (doesn't receive mail, whatsapp messages, surf the internet, etc.).I have checked the following, and also read up a LOT on the subject:-My data settings are correct.-Have spoken to my carrier - everything is connected, and has no reason not to work. -The data programme works on my other phone.-On toggle options (pull-down menu on the home-page), data is activated.-ALL the forums, links, and videos, etc. on the net for turning data roaming on or off, apply to other OS versions of this phone. I say this with certainty because the settings menu is different. I have no data roaming option on the menu, nor any roaming settings!!I have the following options within settings ---> mobile networks ---> -Data connection. Clicking on that allows me to click on my sim, or switch it off. No further options once you click on the sim.-Network mode. Gives you option of GSM/WCDMA; WCDMA only; GSM on
