Users Guide (or What's New) for 2.3??
Saturday 26th of November 2011
Hi,I've had a good ol' Droid Eris since they came out a couple years ago. I just bought a used Incredible, though, to hold me over until something I really want comes out.So my Eris is running Android 2.1 (a rooted version, but basically stock with Sense).I just got the Incredible and before I did any setup, installed anything, or activate it, I ran the system update (off WiFi) and got it to the latest 2.3.4 (4.08.605.2). Install seemed to go fine.- So is there a guide anywhere that will help me see what's different with 2.3, as I'm coming from 2.1?? I'm imagining the version of Sense is pretty similar and the phone itself is not that much different. All I found was the full Incredible manual, but that is for 2.2 and dated from last year. I'm sure Gingerbread adds some new features I'm not aware of.Thanks!!

New Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread build for Droid X reportedly is pushing over the air [Update: Verizon says no update yet]
Tuesday 12th of April 2011
A new build of Android 2.3.3 for the Motorola Droid Xis making the rounds this afternoon and reportedly has hit up a few people OTA-style. Here's the deal: We're looking at Android 2.3.3. That's Gingerbread, folks. It's system version 4.5.588 -- the leaked build we played with last month was 4.5.573. It's said that the update might be pushed out silently -- you could get it an not even know it.We'll believe that when we don't see it. If you don't feel like waiting for the update, you can update manually. (We've got instructions after the break.) And if you do update (manually or over the air), the old 2.3.340 SBF file will still work, just in case you need to roll back. So, that's that. We're halfway expecting Verizon to let us know if this thing's for real -- they've been really good about announcing updates the past few months. Anyone actually seeing this over the air yet? If you wanna give it a go the manual way, head on past the break. [DroidXForums via P3Droid and Android Central Forums]Update: Verizon says it's not yet pushing any update, according to JRRaphael from Compute

New Superuser 2.3 - SPRecovery compatible package
Wednesday 11th of August 2010
Update: On 8/28 the developer of Superuser.apk modified his package to be compatible with SPRecovery in his 2.3.5 release. As of that release my repackaging of his app is no longer necessary. Nonetheless this topic may be of interest for technical or troubleshooting value. The attachments will remain below, but unless you have trouble with it, you should use the original developer's package which can be found in the OP of his topic on XDA.On 8/10 ChainsDD on XDA-Developers.com released a new, completely revamped version of su (Superuser) -- version 2.3. In the updated OP of his topic (which has been running since May of this year and is just updated with each subsequent version) he has a link to a zip file for Eclair/ForYo and anothe rlink for the zip for Cupcake/Donut.Unfortunately the zip he provides (for Eclair/FroYo) will not install under SPRecovery. As I lamented in another thread, when attempting to install the zip it simply does this:Code:-- Install from sdcard...Finding update package...Opening update package...Verifying update package...Installing update...Installation abor
