Not Enough Space For Update

Thursday 29th of September 2011 / droidforums.net
Been trying to install the update & I can't get it to download. Keep getting the error "Not enough space on device to store the incoming file" error. I've uninstalled some apps and moved quite a few to the media area and I still get the same message. Plus I know the file is roughly 56 Megs. My storage tab says Application Storage -Available Space 1.51 GB. Internal storage - Available Space - 10.80 GB. SD Card - Available Space 8.45 GB. What am I missing? Or does someone have a line where I can just download the file and copy to my phone and do a manual install?

The Wait is Over: 2.1 Android Update for Roger’s HTC Magic Arrives

Wednesday 08th of September 2010 / androidheadlines.com
After the long dreadful wait that lasted more than a year, Roger’s users that own the HTC Magic are finally getting Android 2.1. Users have been protesting and complaining about this since the release of Eclair. ”RogersMary has confirmed on Twitter that the update will begin going out OTA (Over The Air) today.”  There is no guarantee when it will be sent to your phone, but you can get it right now by checking for it manually. Many users on Twitter are already started downloading. Some users are reporting difficulty with the update. Users are reporting that they are getting a, “Triangle with an ! in it, next to a phone symbol” displaying on screen part way through the update. We’ve asked RogersMary about it. RogersMary suggests that users with update issues should contact Tech Support. Also some users are reporting an error that there is not enough space for the update to install. Apparently the min free space required for the update is 25 MB. From TwitterIf you have not updated your Magic software to the latest version please proceed with previous upda

After updating Android I got this error. During update android asked me to move some of app to sd card as there were not enough space for update. I moved some and after update and restart I can't enter contacts. When I press green button for calls (enter contacts) it shows error: android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedlyI'm using HTC Cha Cha.I try t reboot phone, to put battery out and back. Finally I try restore phone to factory settings by removing all apps and data. And I still have this error - android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedlyCan you please tell me how to fix it without taking phone to service.Phone is brought from US to EU, so I would need to pay service if I can't fix it myself.

Low storage space and update issues!

Sunday 15th of April 2012 / androidforums.com
I have had the low storage space icon on my task bar ever since I got that gingerbread update. I have deleted application after application and it still won't go away. I even purchased a 16 gb SD card and transferred some apps and it's still there. My available space for internal storage is currently at 5.54 GB and my available space for phone memory is at 585 MB. I'm at the point where I can no longer download applications because it says that there is not enough room on my phone. Also, any time I get an update to my phone, it asks me to let it reboot my phone and install right away. I click this every time and my phone never reboots so I assume it is not installing the update.I don't want to root my phone and I don't want to do a factory reset because there are certain texts that I want to keep. However, I'm starting to become desperate. Any ideas on what I should do?
