Samsung Galaxy S3 to come to Australia? "No plans" at this time!

Thursday 10th of May 2012 / androidauthority.com
[May 10] Updated with information on the retailers that put up pre-order pages for the Samsung Galaxy S3, as well as the Australian carriers that have put-up registration pages for information on the S3.While European, Asian, and North American technology lovers are already getting their budgets straight and making plans for the Samsung Galaxy S3, Australians don’t have much to be excited for, at least at for now. In an exclusive statement given to the guys at gizmodo.au, Samsung Australia said that there are no plans to make any announcements right now about the phone’s availability in “the land down under”.The full statement reads as follows: “Samsung Electronics Australia is pleased there is continued interest about our GALAXY range in Australia, but we have no plans to make any announcements at this time.”While it’s pretty difficult to make any safe assumptions based on this short statement, there could only be three possible reasons why Samsung Australia is reluctant to talk about the Galaxy S3’s availability.First off, Sammy’s new flagship phone might never c

change signal from sprint to verizon but stay with straight talk

Sunday 08th of September 2013 / androidforums.com
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 for straight talk, it is running on the Sprint network (a fact I did not realize before purchasing). I don't have sprint coverage in my area, but have great Verizon coverage. Is it possible to make this phone use the Verizon tower signals and continue to use straight talk service? BTW, I have 2 straight talk phones, each different... one is the afore mentioned and the other is an LG Optimus Dynamic which feels like a toy phone in comparison, but gets great coverage where I am. I don't want to keep two phones active. Can't I make the galaxy think it is the LG and get the Verizon coverage with the awesomeness that is the S3. I reeeeeeaaaaallllyyy love this new S3, please don't make me go back to the LG toy phone, puuuuhhhlleeeeeeze!!! (falling to the floor dramatically) Thank you!

Samsung Galaxy S3 straight talk users?

Sunday 13th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
My questions are. Do you have the Samsung Galaxy S3 on Straight Talk in NEW YORK? if so how is the service. And if I use a SG3 that was bought from AT&T will it use the AT&T towers using straight talk service instead of sprint. Sent from my SGH-S959G using AC Forums mobile app

Samsung Galaxy S3 - Best way to switch devices?

Saturday 23rd of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I just got a Straight Talk CDMA (Verizon) Samsung Galaxy S3. I'm switching from T-Mobile S3. What's the best way to move as much of my phone as possible from one device to the other? I've looked at Samsung Smart Switch and Kies Air, but what I'm really hoping for, since I'm sticking with the same type of phone, is a way to copy everything, including settings and apps (some of which have locally-saved information I want to keep) from one phone to the next, like the BlackBerry Switch Kit that you can download to your computer. Unfortunately, the phones aren't both running the same version of Android--both are Jelly Bean, but I installed the 4.3 update on the T-Mobile phone and the other one still has 4.1.2.

Straight talk samsung galaxy s3 issues!

Monday 30th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 from craigslist (I know, Bad Idea). Ive tried to activate the phone through straight talk but they say its an invalid IMEI# and that its inactive. Ive also tried buying a Straight talk SIM card and installing that, still no service. Idk what to do, is there something someone could have done to the phone ie Flashing or unlocking that would change the IMEI from a straight talk phone to another? Please HELP! Thanks in advance for any advice.

Help rooting my Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S3

Thursday 13th of February 2014 / androidforums.com
Hello, Im fairly new to these forums, and new to android phones. I bought a Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-S960L). But i am pretty new to rooting, custom ROMs, ect. And because of that reason, along with the fact that i bricked my last Straight Talk phone after incorrectly rooting it, I am quite apprehensive to root with anything that is specified to Sprint, T-Mobile or any other carrier/model of phone. I would like to have the most knowledge i can gather about rooting this specific model of phone before i go about with actually doing it. So recently i have been looking through any information i am able to find online about how to go about rooting it. However, I cannot seem to find hardly anything on how to root this specific model of phone, and any information i do find seems to be pretty iffy with reliability. So my question is, could ANYONE help guide me through this process so i can successfully root my device without messing something up and having a $399 dollar brick on my desk. Thanks in advanced.

(SOS) Galaxy S3 Straight Talk Root Help

Wednesday 16th of April 2014 / androidforums.com
Hey! I'm new to these threads, but found a lot of the information on here helpful. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 through Straight Talk (SCH-S968C), and they aren't updating any of their phones. This is the second phone I've bought that hasn't been updated with all the new updates. I'm in version 4.1.2. I want to Root my phone so I can get the Kit Kat update, but I want to make sure that I know what I'm doing because I don't want to brick my phone. I kinda need it. Haha. Has anybody been successful in Rooting a straighttalk phone.. or know how? I have Cydia Impactor downloaded, I just don't really know what to do. Oh! & I have no idea what any of this "root" talk means. But I'm very good at following instructions. Help please!
