4.0 ice cream sandwich - "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped" error after 4.0.4 OTA Upgrade

Tuesday 05th of June 2012 / android.stackexchange.com
This morning, I received the Android 4.0.4 Over The Air upgrade. After my phone rebooted, I saw the following error: Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped. [Report] [OK]If I pressed OK, I would see the same error again. This was, indeed, unfortunate, because it made it impossible to run any application on the phone. How do I fix this?

Settings --> Applications no longer works; email has stopped

Friday 08th of February 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, I just installed the newest Android update on 2/8/13, The update appeared to finish installing. Then the TwLauncher stopped and I couldn't get to most of my apps. I managed to install Nova launcher via Google Play store and now I am able to use the phone and most apps again. The problem I'm now having is that when I try to start the stock email app, it stalls, and then I get "Unfortunately, Email has stopped." I also get "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" when I go into System Settings and try to click Application. Any ideas on how to fix the problems with Settings and Email stopping? Thanks, Dave

Two Issues I have questions on

Tuesday 27th of March 2012 / androidforums.com
Hi all. I'm going to be touching on two separate issues, so sorry if this is a little all over the place.Issue #1. I love my phone, had it since the day it came out, but it seems to me to be (still) very buggy. At least thrice a day, I will try to open an app and get "Unfortunately, ______ has stopped." I've even gotten "Unfortunately, phone.android has stopped" and "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped." Is this normal? Is everyone still getting these or could it be something specific to my phone? Completely stock phone, mind you.Issue #2. When I go into 'sounds' in settings, I have vibrate set to 'Always On', yet it does not vibrate unless I'm in silent mode. Even with that, there is only one vibrate pattern so I can never tell if I have a phone call or text or whatever. Question 1: Am I doing something wrong to make it not vibrate along with audible ringtones?Question 2: Is the a Play app that will allow me to customize my vibrate patterns and allow me to have simultaneous ring and vibe?TIA for any info on either issue.

Launcher Has Stopped ?

Friday 06th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I own a rooted Asus Transformer Prime TF201 tablet with android 4.1.1 (original), and have probably done something stupid... please help! I've looked around for answers, but to tell the truth, am not very experienced and I am very confused... My tablet won't get beyond "Launcher has stopped" error when booting. I can power off and power on (using power + volume buttons). My custom bootloader image comes into view after the ASUS logo -- next I get the "Asus Keyboard is not installed" message with the "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped" message on top of that. Pressing the OK button just blinks and back to the errors. I *can* get to the tablet settings. I rooted several months ago, installed the custom bootloader graphic, SuperSU, ROM Manager and some other rooted apps. I had flashed cyanogen rom "9" (I think) -- the stable one for Asus -- and was running fine. I thought I had done a nandroid backup (file on SD card). Then I created my problem: I had messed around with the LED settings via ROM Manager, and then <italics>I think</ital

Homescreen Launcher problems

Saturday 07th of September 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hello everyone! New to the site, but working with Android for 2 years now (Samsung Captivate Glide, HTC One X, now the Google/Asus 2012 Nexus 7). Love it! Only one complaint regarding my (old) Nexus 7: my home screen has recently, for no apparent reason, defaulted to the wrong screen. When I unlock the tablet, it opens to Screen 1 (of 5), which should be the home screen. However, when I hit the home screen shortcut, it goes to Screen 3. Additionally, when I try to drag either an app or a widget to Screens 1 or 2, I get an error message: "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped" and I get chucked back to whatever app was last open. This is obviously quite annoying, especially for an OCD person like myself who likes a neat clean look. I run Android 4.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, and the problem showed up before that update rolled out (although it did mostly fix the nasty lag issue). I am NOT rooted (honestly!), and I am nowhere near my memory capacity. Need help please, genius Androidians!
